Founder | Raymund Afoakwa Consulting
Director | Race Lab
Co-Founder | Supermond Bikes
Raymund Afoakwa is a performance consultant specialising in applied biomechanics, aerodynamics, and systems-based optimisation within cycling. He is the founder of Raymund Afoakwa Consulting, a consultancy operating across road, track, and para-cycling, supporting athletes, teams, federations, and industry partners through evidence-led bike fitting and integrated performance development.
Alongside his consultancy work, Raymund leads Race Lab, the research and development division focused on applied testing, equipment validation, and translational research. Race Lab operates at the intersection of bike fitting, engineering, and sport science, supporting the evaluation and development of rider position, frames, components, apparel, and complete rider–bike systems through objective measurement, iterative testing, and aerodynamic validation.
Raymund is also the co-founder of Supermond Bikes, a performance-focused bicycle brand engaged in the design and development of high-level road and track frames. This role provides a direct link between applied bike fitting and product engineering, allowing biomechanical and positional insights to inform frame geometry, component interfaces, and system-level performance outcomes.
Through Raymund Afoakwa Consulting and Race Lab, Raymund actively supports and sponsors elite athletes, teams, and federations, including the Belgian Para-Cycling Federation, Korea Cycling Federation, and Chinese Taipei Cycling Association, as well as UK-based para-cycling and track development programmes and selected UCI-registered teams. These collaborations are aligned with Olympic and World Championship performance pathways.
Raymund collaborates closely with coaches, engineers, sport scientists, and fit professionals to translate theoretical principles into applied practice. His work places strong emphasis on standardisation, critical analysis, and interdisciplinary collaboration within high-performance sport.
Committed to professional education, Raymund supports the advancement of bike fitting as a discipline grounded in scientific methodology, practical competence, and continuous learning.
