Mentoring and consultancy service offers bike fitters a new level of professional support Bike fitters looking for help to take their careers to the next level are being offered support from one of the world’s top fitters thanks to a new, online mentoring service.

Created by IBFI founder and experienced bike fitter Andy Brooke, the service offers beginner and established fitters the opportunity to gain help and advice on any aspect of the industry, from creating career development plans and developing their businesses, to learning how to approach complicated fits.

Through monthly one-to-one calls and direct contact with Andy each week, fitters will be given the chance to learn the thought processes and logic he has used through his thousands of bikefits.

With support from Andy, who has more than 15 years of fit experience, including being a Retul Master fitter and a Steve Hogg approved fitter, they will also be helped to identify their strengths and areas for improvement, and given strategies to fill any knowledge gaps.

“I’ve always had a passion for teaching and sharing my experience and knowledge, and mentoring is a great way of ensuring that the bike fit industry continues to go from strength to strength,” says Andy.

“For less than half the price of an average fit, my mentoring service gives fitters unrivalled access to the knowledge I’ve collected through attending, writing and delivering dozens of bike fit courses around the world.

“Whether you’re new to the industry or an established fitter, mentoring can be a great way to talk through situations and bounce ideas off an experienced professional who has been in your situation.”

Troubleshooting

For fitters who are struggling with a complicated case, Andy is also offering troubleshooting sessions to help them identify what approaches they could take to get the best results for their clients.

Fitters will have the chance to discuss their case with Andy, who will help them identify the logical next steps, as well as recommend what interventions to try.

If a fitter is still having problems, Andy will attend a fit remotely to help dive deeper into more advanced solutions.

“Having worked extensively with Paralympians and amputees I have a lot of experience in working with complicated fit cases,” says Andy.

“By helping fitters understand the mechanisms behind the interventions they make, they will be better placed to identify what interventions are most likely to help in challenging situations.”

Consulting

For fitters and bike fit brands looking for more detailed help, Andy is also offering consultancy and support to projects of all sizes.

Consultations can be about anything from bike shops considering launching bike fit services, to how to lay out a studio, what to look for when hiring a new fitter, and what kit to invest in.

Having developed and run bike fit training courses, Andy can also offer advice on what additional training staff might need, and on how businesses can get the most from their existing bike fit tech using the education courses available to them.

For bike brands looking to take a fit-first approach to product design, or introduce biomechanical concepts and scientific research to product development, Andy is available to offer longer-term consultancy and advice services.

“Having a strong scientific background thanks to my Masters degree in sport and exercise science, and six years of PhD study, I’ve worked with companies to provide scientific support to help back up their products’ claims,” he says.

“Whether brands are looking for advice at the design stage or lengthier involvement to help them develop products and get them to market, I can help.”

Andy is available for single, one-hour calls to answer small questions, or lengthier on-going projects. To find out more about his services and pricing, visit www.andy-brooke.com and IBFI members will be able to access Andy's services with a discount.
